Vehicle Wraps
-
The vinyl used for wraps requires a good clear coat for maximum bonding and a clean surface to promote adhesion. We encounter many painted surfaces which are not conducive to the wrap process including door handles, hinges, textured surfaces, emblems, rubber moldings, weather stripping, sliding windows, exhaust areas and some extreme convex and compound curves.

A vehicle wrap is a large vinyl adhesive decal applied directly to the clear coat of a car, truck, van, or other mobile apparatus.

How does wrapping differ from a custom vehicle paint job?
While wraps are intended to simulate a paint job, they are not a true alternative to a paint job. Vehicle wraps are not designed to be viewed up close as they are intended to be moving billboards for commercial advertising. When viewed up close, vinyl cut lines, seaming, or slight ink imperfections provide evidence that the wrap is not a paint job. Wraps are non-permanent, easy to update, protect the paint they cover, and do not negatively impact resale/trade-in value. Wrap projects can also include additional applications such as dye-cut decals and window perforations.
-
How is a vehicle wrap applied?
Inkt Graphics proudly designs, prints, and installs all vehicle wraps in-house. The final wrap design is printed onto large vinyl panels which are then laminated and applied with heat to the clean, clear-coated painted surfaces of a vehicle. Wraps are pieced together, much like a large puzzle, to match up the graphics and appropriately accommodate the curvature of the surfaces to be covered.
-
How long does the wrap process take?
It depends! To officially begin your order, we need pictures and measurements of your vehicle as well as any relevant information that will impact the design of your project—high resolution digital copies of your logo or images, information to be included on the wrap, font types, design ideas or examples of projects you like. We accept the following file types: psd, tif, ai, eps and jpeg (300 dpi or 3000x3000 pixels).
Our designers will need up to a week to provide your first proof for review. After the initial proof, our design process includes up to three additional proofs. (See our Proof Policy for additional information.) Upon approval, your project will be added to our installation calendar and the wrap will officially be built for printing.
Within forty-eight of final project approval, final design files are added to our print schedule. Printed projects dry for 24 hours prior to laminating to ensure proper gas release and ink curing. Laminated projects are then ready for cutting and installation by your scheduled date.
Wrap installation typically takes 3-4 days, but can take longer due to the complexity of the project.

Will Inkt Graphics install a vehicle wrap produced by another vendor?
Unfortunately, Inkt Graphics will not install wraps printed by another vendor.
-
Our proof policy indicates that all graphics are the property of Inkt Graphics and may not be reproduced in any way without authorization from the company. Printing will not take place until proofs are approved by the client. Approval indicates all graphics, design/layout, colors, dimensions, names, and spellings within the proof are correct. Inkt Graphics is not responsible for printed errors associated with approved proofs.

How should I care for my wrap?
Ultimately, vehicle wraps should be treated with care. They will scratch if exposed to rough textures or abrasive solutions. It is best to hand wash your wrapped vehicle with a gentle cleanser and, in general, avoid power washing or automatic car washes. Wrap Care Kits with wrap-specific detergents and polish alternatives are available for purchase.
-
How much do vehicle wraps cost?
Wraps are priced per square foot and generally include design, setup, printing, laminating, materials, plotter cutting, and installation. Pricing reflects factors such as full or partial wrap, complexity of design, complexity of the vehicle being wrapped, and material types. We gladly offer free estimates.
-
Can I install the wrap myself?
While our installers have received specific training in wrap preparation and application, we do allow customers to install their own graphics. However, Inkt Graphics will not be held liable for property damage caused by improper installation techniques or for the replacement of materials damaged during installation by individuals other than our own installers.
-
How long will a vehicle wrap last?
If cared for properly, vehicle wraps are intended for outdoor use for up to five years. Many wraps exceed this time frame when they are hand washed and driven in normal weather conditions.
-
Do you offer a warranty on vehicles wraps?
Inkt Graphics offers a one year warranty on our installation work for projects that are deemed to fall within the scope of normal wear and tear. Manufacturer warranties for product quality and adhesion vary.
-
Do you offer wrap removal services?
Yes, we offer wrap removal services for wraps produced and installed by Inkt Graphics. We charge an hourly rate for this service.
Pricing

Because each of our wrap projects is so unique, there is not a standard cost for wraps. On average, you can estimate that wraps will run around $15/sq.ft and include the design work, printing, materials, and installation labor. This cost is subject to change based on the scope of the design work and the complexity of the project to be wrapped.
We offer free measurements and estimates for projects brought to our shop or within the Garden City limits.

How much does it cost to order one or more t-shirts?
Good news! We understand that our clients may have speciality projects that do not require multiple quantities of an order. Therefore, we do not require a minimum order for any of our apparel or other sublimation items.
Instead, we charge a one-time design fee plus a per shirt cost that gives you the flexibility to order as many, or as few, t-shirts as you need. Design Fees include the initial design plus two proof changes and the shirt cost includes the shirt, printing, materials, and pressing labor.
Please contact us for your project specific design fees, t-shirt pricing, and available colors and sizes.
Sublimation
-
Sublimation is the printing and pressing technique we use to create custom apparel and substrate designs. By definition, sublimation is the process of changing from a solid to a gas without passing through an intermediate liquid phase.
Long story short, sublimation allows us to dye the fabric of a shirt or press an image onto a number of substrates (including license plates, mugs, and mousepads) seamlessly. This process accommodates intricate graphics, colors, gradients, and shading without the heavy plastic feel of traditional screenprinting or vinyl dye cuts.
-
Is there a minimum order for sublimated products?
Custom graphics is our expertise and we realize that customers may not need or want multiple copies of a product. Therefore, we do not require minimum orders on any of our sublimated apparel or products.

What is your design and proofing policy?
All graphics and designs are the property of Inkt Graphics and may not be reproduced in any way without authorization from the company.
Printing will not take place until proofs are approved by the client. Approval indicates that all graphics, design/layout, colors, dimensions, names, and spellings within the proof are correct.
Inkt Graphics is not responsible for printed errors associated with approved proofs.

Can you match my existing vehicle paint color?
Unfortunately, there are too many variables in automotive paint to get an exact match. We can get close but we do not guarantee our print colors will align perfectly.
